The Jewish Federation of Greater St. Paul is proud to introduce the Etz Chaim (Tree of Life) Society, our new program to honor community members who have named the St. Paul Federation in their wills or other estate plans.
The Talmud relates a story about a carob tree: A righteous man encountered a man planting a carob tree. “How long will it take to bear fruit?” the righteous man inquired. “About seventy years,” the man replied. The righteous man asked, “So you think you will live long enough to taste its fruit?” The man explained, “I have found ready-grown carob trees in the world. As my forefathers planted them for me, so I plant for my children.”
Now is the time for us to plant for our children and grandchildren, and to honor those who have already done so. As a member of the Etz Chaim Society, you will be eligible to attend special events and be listed in the Etz Chaim honor roll.
We thank you today for the legacy you leave for tomorrow.
We need your help. If you have made a provision for the Federation in your estate plans, let us know by contacting Jeffrey Prottas at firstname.lastname@example.org or 651-695-3185.
You can encourage family members, friends and professional colleagues to leave a bequest to the Federation in their wills. You also can help identify friends and neighbors who may already have done so. The Federation will honor all of these wonderful “planters.”
A gift to the Jewish community today will allow you to be there for your family, St. Paul, and the Jewish people—whenever help is needed in the future.
