Niza Schear - Community Concierge
GOAL: To enrich the lives of children, adults, families, and the community as a dynamic connector.

My name is Niza Przetycki Schear, and I was born in Haifa, Israel. I live in Minnetonka, Minnesota, and am blessed with three beautiful children; Ahmree (23), Kobi (19), Sofie (18), and our sweet puppy Bella. I have worked with children and adults of all ages throughout our Minneapolis and St. Paul communities. I have been a classroom teacher for over 30 years, hold an MAEd from Hamline University, and am a licensed K-6 grade teacher. It has been my privilege to have worked for many years in and outside the Jewish community.

My employment experiences have included leading and teaching at: Heilicher Jewish Day School, Bnai Emet, Beth El, Mpls Jewish Community Center, Adath Synagogue (Rosh Chodesh (New Month) teenage girls group leader), ELL (English Language Learner) Educator at North Jr High for international students, JFCS (Jewish Family and Children’s Services)-Parent-Child Programming Coordinator, Housing Director for Comfort First (Senior Living and Memory Care), English Teacher for senior citizens at Heartland Adult Program, Talmud Torah of Minneapolis and St. Paul.

I enjoy writing and am the author of a published book: My Pixie Dixie, and am currently writing a picture book about Peace, a true story, called: BFF Best Falafel Friends. I’m thrilled to be the new concierge for the St. Paul Jewish Federation and join a fabulous team of professionals. As a child of Russian and Polish immigrant parents, I value and celebrate diversity when I connect with others. Some of my catchphrases I believe in include: “Just Show Up! There is a place for you!” I look forward to enriching the lives of children, adults, and families to meet the mission of building an engaged, dedicated, joyful, and welcoming St. Paul Jewish community.
